Contract with Pomeranian Hospitals: PLN 4.6 million and a December 2026 deadline
The scope entrusted to Grupa KDM includes preparing design documentation, obtaining the required approvals and comprehensive execution of construction and installation works.
The value of the signed contract is PLN 4,601,575.24 gross, and the planned completion of the task falls on 2 December 2026.
New paediatric and surgical section of the Emergency Department
One of the most important elements of the project will be the creation of new spaces for paediatric and surgical patients. Part of the hospital's main hall will also be reconstructed, and the existing circulation layout will be adapted to provide a convenient and safe passage to the paediatric part of the Emergency Department.
The new rooms will be equipped with medical furniture, specialist fittings and IT equipment supporting the staff's work.
Delivery of the task will improve the conditions in which care is provided to the youngest patients, while also streamlining the functioning of the entire emergency department.
Modernisation in an operating hospital: phasing and work zones
Carrying out works in a functioning Emergency Department requires precise preparation of the individual stages and close coordination with medical staff.
What will be key is maintaining the continuity of the hospital's operation, safely separating the work zones from spaces used by patients and limiting the impact of the works on the facility's day-to-day activity.
The scope of the task includes demolition, construction and finishing works, as well as the execution and reconstruction of internal installations. These will include modern ventilation and air-conditioning systems, which will improve conditions for patients and for the medical team.
“Delivering an investment in an operating hospital, and especially in the immediate vicinity of the Emergency Department, requires very good organisation and responsible phasing of works. Our task is not only to create modern medical spaces, but also to carry out the works in such a way that they affect the staff's daily work and patient service as little as possible. It is a demanding project that fits well with Grupa KDM's experience in delivering specialist healthcare facilities.”
Mariusz Myrcha, Contracts Director of Grupa KDM Sp. z o.o.
TOPSOR queuing system and more efficient admissions
The task will also include the implementation of a new queuing system compliant with the TOPSOR standard. The solution is intended to streamline the organisation of admissions and the flow of patients through the individual areas of the Emergency Department.
The project also takes into account the needs of people with disabilities and people with special needs.
Another Grupa KDM investment in healthcare
The reconstruction of the Gdynia Emergency Department is another specialist medical project delivered by Grupa KDM. The task combines construction works, advanced technical installations, specialist equipment and solutions that directly affect the safety of patients and staff.
After the works are completed, St Vincent a Paulo Hospital will gain a functionally integrated paediatric and surgical section, more modern technical infrastructure and a more efficient system for serving patients requiring urgent help.
