Narrow-gauge railway station in Grójec

The project involved the renovation and change of use of the historic narrow-gauge railway station building in Grójec, which after modernisation became a branch of the Grójec Cultural Centre. The following was carried out under the task:
▪ thorough renovation of the building structure and restoration of the facade
▪ renovation of the water tower and conservation of the historic turntable
▪ reconstruction of window and door joinery
▪ deepening of the basement with a high groundwater level
▪ restoration of historic elements, including historic stair tiles and doors
▪ development of the plot for recreational functions

We carried out the works in close cooperation with the Voivodeship Monument Conservator, preserving the layout of the rooms and the character of the building. The restored building now houses, among other things, a cultural centre with an art studio, a café in the station hall and a multi-purpose room in the attic. The value of the investment exceeded PLN 5.5 million, of which PLN 3 million came from co-financing from the budget of the Mazovia Voivodeship.
